Thoughts: Revolutionary Transitional Government

This is the topic I would like to discuss now. Many people question the future of the country if GMA would step down from the office. Others, who believe in the constitutional and democratic process, think that VP Noli De Castro would become the legal heir to the presidency. While many, especially the Opposition, want to take control of the presidency again and install their choice of president, preferably Susan Roces. The Rightists, and I am pertaining to the Military, think that they should step up and control the government for up to 3 mos (maniwala) if there would be no choice of president.

But since I do belong to the Left, which is the student-worker alliance of activists, we believe that replacing a political leader is insufficient and think that the new appointed one would also suffer the same fate. We suggest an abolition of the old political system of traditional politics, oligarchic dynasties, market force lobbying, and corrupt and useless institutions. Hindi na sapat ang isang reform, dapat ay kumpletong pagbabago sa bulok nating sistema.

We need to ratify a new Constitution based on the ideals of the People, and not the intellectual elite. We need are true populist politicians coming in from all sectors of society that are able to fully serve and understand their role in governing the country. What we need is a government that we can truly say is "by the people, of the people, for the people" and not for the benefit of only some. We need a government who would support all national business especially the ones who serve the interest of the people and not their bank accounts. Real Popular Democracy is what we need....

Society needs a spanking, and it needs it now! 1987 Constitutions don't solve 2005 political problems. If they want to see change, it's the political system that should change!
